1. Even though McDonalds was involved in a number of lawsuits and other legal cases, most of which involved trademark disputes it has finally lost power over the Big Mac burrger's trademark in the European Union. After the company has threatened many food business with legal action until they dropped the MC or Mac from trading names, McDonalds is now defenseless in the EU. This is due to "trademark bullying", as an Irish restaurant chain was unfairly sued against using the trademark. 2. If McDonalds wants to keep growing, the fast-food chain needs, without question, premium menu items, but it can't price them outside the range of what people expect value menus to offer or much higher than the competition does, as it will simply drive customers to its rivals.
